Our journey continues as we cross the sunniest part of Madeira, passing by lovely villages nestled amidst incredible views. This area is the island’s primary banana-producing region, and you’ll witness the iconic terraces where these tropical fruits thrive.
Uncover the secrets of Madeira’s banana production at a working plantation in Madalena do Mar, and walk along the scenic Rota da Banana trail. Immerse yourself in the lush greenery and learn about the banana cultivation process. Admire the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and coastline.
Next, we’ll explore the historic center of Ponta do Sol, a charming town framed by banana-terraced slopes overlooking the ocean. Admire its picturesque streets, colorful buildings, and elegant architecture. Take a moment to savor the panoramic views from the town square or one of the local cafés.
Weather permitting, we’ll then visit the stunning Cascata dos Anjos (Angel’s Waterfall).
Our tour concludes in Ribeira Brava, a charming town known for its farmers’ market. Here, you can savor the vibrant colors and fresh, exotic fruits of the region, including locally grown passion fruit and juicy mangoes. Recognized by locals as one of the best markets in Madeira, it’s a true taste of island life.
